Marcia Raggio, Ph.D., FAAA, CCC-A, Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and Audiology Clinic Coordinator.  Current research interests, in partnership with the UCSF Center for Integrative Neuroscience, involves the investigation of how we process speech in noise.  The SFSU portion of this work is performed in the Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences Audiology Laboratory which Dr. Raggio directs.  She is currently the Chair of the Speech Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board, appointed by Governor Jerry Brown and Governor Gavin Newsom, and is a Member at Large of the American Academy of Audiology.  She has received the American Academy of Audiology President’s Award, the California Academy of Audiology Leadership Award for Outstanding Service to the California Audiology Community.  In 2019, she received the San Francisco State University Excellence in Service Award (Tenured Faculty) for the development and implementation of AB 2317 that allows Clinical Doctoral Programs in Audiology (AuD) in the CSU system for the first time.
