Deborah Curtis
Deborah Curtis is a professor in the Equity and Social Justice Education program at SFSU. She has an MA and Ph.D. in educational psychology from University of California Berkeley. Dr. Curtis has taught undergraduate and master’s classes in the ELSIT Department, and doctoral courses in the Joint Doctoral Program in Special Education with UC Berkeley. Her teaching has focused on educational data analysis (both qualitative and quantitative) and educational research design. She is the co-coordinator of the Master of Arts Degree program in Equity and Social Justice Education, where she works with MA students who have a range of shared research interests, including LGBTQ+ studies in education; women, gender, and education, and math and science education. Dr. Curtis serves as the Director of the GCOE Step to College Program, a high school dual-enrollment program for first generation high school students. She is also the coordinator of the undergraduate quantitative reasoning program in the ELSIT Department.
