Do You Know About the Golden State Teacher Grant Program?

All of our eligible students should be applying now for this California grant, which provides up to $20,000 to students currently enrolled in a professional preparation program approved by the CTC and working toward their preliminary teaching or pupil personnel services credential. For us in GCOE, these are all the credential programs in EED, SED, and SPED.

Students must complete the FAFSA and then the free application here. The funding combines with their other financial aid to meet their total cost of attendance. Recipients commit to teaching at a priority school for 4 years within 8 years of completing their credential. Applications are open now and will be accepted through April 1, 2024. Our SF State Financial Aid Office is ready to work with our candidates – let’s make sure they know about it!
