Communicative Disorders Student Orientation

Special Education & Communicative Disorders

All upper division Undergraduate Students and Graduate Students in Communicative Disorders are required to attend and to participate in Fall Orientation.  Announcements and opportunities for preparing for professional roles in the field will be discussed. Important deadlines and procedures for successful completion of BA and MS degrees and the SLPSC will be presented in addition to opportunities for students to benefit from membership in the National Student Speech-Hearing Association and the California Speech-Language and Hearing Association.  Contact Dr. Laura Epstein at lepstein@sfsu.edu for more information.

New Student Orientation and Advising for ELSIT

Equity, Leadership Studies, and Instructional Technologies

This event will provide an overview to the ELSIT Department and to each individual MA program in the Department. There will also be breakouts for each program and the opportunity to meet with individual program advisors and receive advice on course selection.


Building Common Ground: Equity and Social Justice in ELSIT Workshop

Equity, Leadership Studies, and Instructional Technologies

This event is mandatory for entering students in the Adult Education, Educational Administration, Equity & Social Justice, and Special Interest MA programs. The goal is to help entering students develop a sense of community, common purpose, and common language focused on issues of equity and social justice from the outset of their studies.

Lunch will be provided.
