The program’s curriculum focuses on five major categories:

- Research activities
All required program courses are listed below under each of the program’s curriculum categories:
Category 1: Leadership and Systemic Reform (total 4 classes—12 units)
- EDDL 910: Transformational Leadership and Coalition Building (3 units)
- EDDL 911: Organizational Behavior, Change, and Systemic Reform (3 units)
- EDDL 912: Advanced Educational Leadership Seminar (3 units)
- EDDL 945: Communication Techniques and Strategies in Educational Leadership (3 units)
Category 2: Learning, Curriculum, and Assessment (total 4 classes—12 units)
- EDDL 920: Developing Academic Skills of English Language Learners (3 units)
- EDDL 921: Mathematics, and Science, and Literacy (3 units)
- EDDL 922: Advanced Pedagogical Strategies for Achieving Equity (3 units)
- EDDL 923: Mixed Methods Analysis of Instruction and Learning (3 units)
Category 3: Equity, Diversity, and Structural Inequality (total 3 classes—9 units)
- EDDL 930: Qualitative Analysis of Race, Class, and Gender in Society and Education (3 units)
