APLE (Assumption Program of Loans for Education)

Application period is usually from May thru July 31 of each year. If all of the slots have not been filled for this program, the application period is then re-opened later in the year around November until all the slots for that academic year have been filled. THIS IS NOT A GRANT OR A LOAN!! Students must apply while they are enrolled in a credential program pursuing the preliminary or specialist credential. Students who are completing coursework towards clearing their credential and who have already obtained the preliminary credential are not eligible. You must be enrolled during the academic year for which you are applying to the program.

For more specific information about how the loan assumption is carried out, please call the Student Aid Commission at 1-888-224-7268 and press #3.

Or visit www.csusuccess.org/scholarship for application and information.

Pell Grant

This Federal grant was only available to undergraduate students, but has recently (two years now) been extended to credential students. For eligibility to be determined, credential students need to complete the FAFSA. It is recommended that you apply early in the year (Jan-Mar) for the following academic year so your eligibility can be determined for this grant while funds are available.
